Our stay at the Marni Village. Koutouloufari was a great all round family holiday. The staff at the Marni Village were extremely friendly with a genuine wish for everyone to have an enjoyable time. The staff along with the tour rep were all only too happy to help in anyway possible to ensure good fun was had by all, without being over the top. The main pool area was fabulous. For the children great times were had splashing around in the water while for the adults it was great to relax on a sunlounger looking out over spectacular views. With sea views to one side and mountain views to the other. The second pool was a queiter area mainly being used by those without children.
The accomodation itself, whilst being quite standard, there was nothing to complain about. I stayed in a standard studio appartment whilst other members of our party stayed in a standard one bedroom apartment. The studio was just as large as the one bedroom appartment but actually gave the feel of being more spacious.
There were 2 supermarkets with a bakery within a 2-3 min walk in either direction of the complex where you could get all you may need on a self catering holiday. If you didn't feel like cooking for yourself the pool bar served extremely good snacks and meals.
Just a short stroll away was the traditional greek village of Koutouloufari, which I just fell in love with. With its cobbled streets & traditional buildings, It was a very relaxing area allowing you to sample traditional greek life without the hussle & bussle of a more commercial town. You have a very large selection of taverns & restaurants to eat in. We ate at a different one every night and was never disappointed with any of them. The meals are well priced although the drinks are a little expensive. However the greeks really welcome children into their taverns and can supply them with free ice cream, free drinks, and on a couple of occassions the children even ate for free.
The complex is built on a mountain side so there is quite a hill to get down to the beach or into Hersonissos. It is a lovely 20 minute stroll down, and once there it is play heaven for the children with play grounds & mini water parks around every corner to keep them happy. There is also a great shopping area. However the walk back up the hill can be quite hard after a long hot day, but if you don't fancy the walk a taxi will only cost a few euros.
The pictures that you see on the internet of Marni Village and Koutouloufari are a very true likeness to what you get once there.
I would not hesitate to recommend this holiday to family and friends, and I will definately consider returning at some point in the future.
The only down side to this comlex is that it would not be suitable for anyone with mobility problems, which is a real shame as they are missing out on a great chance to enjoy themselves.
