I go here religiously

I've been taking my daughter here since she was 4 yrs old, she is 18 now and it's cooler for her to go on hols with her mates rather than dad now, lol... With an hour and a bit transfer from the airport, only so long because of the multiple drop offs. But we both love it and she wants to go with just her mates in tow, and I feel totally relaxed about it because its a home away from home and we know the area and the people well enough. And we v always felt safe.. But I'll have the freedom to show my close friends what they've been missing this time round and from now on so bring it on. The hotel and staff are brill the food is good, a different theme every night. Whether your a veggi or meat eater. Even though we always go half board, breakfast and evening meal, happy hour at the bar which opens at 10am which does food and snacks and ice cream to boot that's more than enough for our needs even if you've got a fussy eater with you.. There's entertainment every night, for children and adults alike, 3 pools to choose from, 2 full size and one child's pool. The views are breathtaking no matter where you are in the hotel you always feel like you're on top of the world. Especially first thing in the morning or last thing at night and you look out from your balcony you just feel like your on cloud nine and you don't want to ever go back home. The apartments are always clean and hygiene friendly even though they could do with proper air con, but you have to make do with a bit of a noisy fan!! The kitchen facilities are good too, beds are comfy, but again could do with the air con on the warm nights. The only thing we found that might be off putting to some is where your apartment might be, as in your at the top of a valley so it's very hilly so if your apartment is at the bottom or middle you have to walk up steep steps or take the lift, which until a few years ago was always breaking down which wasn't good especially in the blazing sun. Again it's a very high up location so may cause a problem for some folks with difficulties. There is an abundant of activities to do with or without the reps recommendations but we found the water park and the beach which are both very near by too... to be a brill calling every other day. There is a decent shopping centre more or less a stones throw away with a few nice family bars, restaurants and pubs which cater for young children and families of all sizes. But for a little more variety and for a few euros in a taxi or the regular bus the bigger shopping centre is right at the bottom and the journey only last 5 minutes or so. There you ll see more shops and bars restaurants etc etc to cater for even more tastes. Some of the bars are open till the very early hours 2am or 4am, but they are all family friendly and its never to over run by rowdy drinkers you have to venture outside town if you seek a more lively night. So you ll find this is more aimed at singles, couples and families who like a bit of excitement and good nightlife but not on a grand scale. Nice and steady to cater for most tastes. So over all good value for money, a laid back friendly place to go plenty of sun for the worshipers and a must for families with kids. Singles and couples, you won't be let down. So Riosol I'll be seeing you very soon x

is there air conitioning in the Rio Sol, or fans?

Mrs CAROL IVERSON

Fans or air con? (25/09/2011)

well the room we v always stayed in had a fan which was not really that affective for various rooms..but we requested an extra fan when there was more than 2 of us sharing and we was given one without question. theres only one occasion we had a noisy fan when we touched down in the very early hours and the room was red hot so didn t bother report it through sheer exhaustion, which we put up with for a couple of days but then decided we should exchange it and they obliged without fuss. as for air con im not 100% but im sure if you made some enquires then arrangements for an upgraded room with air con would be sorted for you..but please dont quote me on that..lol..

Riosol Aparthotel Review

Have stayed at the Riosol now 4 times although this is the first time we have been half board. The resort is first class with plenty of bars and shops local you can pay a couple of pound for a taxi down to the Commercial Centre for more entertainment if u fancy. We walked down to the beach a couple of times (many many steps to encounter) but beats walking back( like climbing to the clouds) thats where the ever faithful taxis come in! Hotel staff swimming pool all gr8. The rooms I thought were out of this world having been refurbished and the spacious balcony was brilliant. Go and see what i mean! Gr8 holliday.

Facilities (09/03/2011)

Have been before many years ago. What are the refurbished facilities like, and what amenities? And what is the distance by foot to Playa Amadores - any short cuts avoiding steps?
