Hotel Bel Air, Hammamet, Tunisia

Deluxe Direct012

Full of eastern promise the Bel Air Hotel at Hammamet is a beauty. Lawns and loungers around the pool set up the laid-back atmosphere and a great choice of eateries from a Pizzeria to a beach snack bar and sizzling barbecue add to the relaxed pace. If you want to work up a sweat (as if it’s not hot enough already!) there are tonnes of sports activities to join in and after dark a fun evening line up keeps all the family entertained. The bars and beach are a stroll away while the resort centre and all its attractions is a short 7km away.

Fantastic Time

Travelled as two families with children ranging from 5 to 17, enjoyed staying in this hotel. The entertainment team keep the children and adults amused, the hotel staff were all friendly and could not do enough for you. The rooms were clean and spacious. The beach was only 5 mins walk and the guys who run the bar there provide an excellent service from moving the chairs to delivering ice creams. The entertainment at the hotel is loud but only goes on until 12 midnight all the other reviews complaining about noise later in the evening should know it is not from the hotel but Latino's club across the road which opens 12 to 4am. The food at the hotel was fine for all our age groups and the cheers bar offered the kids the food they are use to at lunch time for very good prices, We will be going back to this hotel.

Wouldn't go back

Did not enjoy this hotel. The location was awful, entertainment awful (unless you like Pontins style entertainment). Food wasnt too bad although there was the odd day were I lived on chips as there was nothing else that I liked, and I am not a fussy eater! Beach bar, what beach bar! It was just an empty shack and we ended up using the facilities at the beach bar next door. On a plus side the beer was cold and I regularly ended up drinking in our room watching the TV as it was better entertainment! Enjoyed the El Jdem trip however would not recommend the pirate ship unless you have young kids and you enjoy loud screaming music and dancing at 9am....and your sober!

Dirty rooms

We (me my husband my 2 kids-7 months and 3 years and my mum) spent in this hotel one night. The hotel was not very nice and the rooms were dirty. There was no access to the beach. The man in the reception told us wrong times for a supper and when we came there was nothing to eat. We had very nice representant and she helped us to move to another hotel which was very nice and we spent nice 2 weeks in Tunisia. I don't recommend this hotel anybody. Bel Air Hotel should have only 1 star not 3!!!

Cheap and Cheerful

Ther hotel Bel Air is a cheap and cheerful hotel midway between Hammamet and Yasmin Hammamet. The hotel is basic but clean and the room I was in was quite large overlooking the pool. The hotel is very cheap and its not a luxury hotel but more a base to explore. Theres a big beach closeby where the hotel has its own bar and a cheap taxi ride away is Yasmin Hammamet which is very nice for shops and the beach there is large with lots to do. I went on the excusion Sahara Safari which does involve a lot of coach travel but is a great experience. You visit El Djem the Roman Coloseam and the Troglodites as well as others on the way to take an early morning camel ride thru the desert definatley a must do.

Holiday for the brave

I have been to this hotel 3 times now but not sure I would go back again. The rooms are basic and clean. The food is ok for adults but children don't really seem to enjoy it. The shops within the hotel are expensive for food and drinks - over 3 times the price you would pay outside the hotel. Entertainment is of poor quality but funny in the wrong sort of way. The punchline is also lost when you've had to listen to it all in 4 different languages. Cheers bar is cheaper and has a good atmosphere. Just watch out for the locals trying it on - it might start off as quite flattering but gets a bit annoying when they're trying to follow you into the toilet cubicles! There is a lot of noise at the hotel from the British Bar across the road but if you ask for a room overlooking the pool you should be ok. And if you don't mind a bit of noise it's open until 5am!

The hotel was not as good as I expected, the food, although not much choice, was very nice. The public areas (around the pool/lounge) was very clean and fresh. Although the animation team worked very hard to entertain, there was no 'real entertainment'. All the staff were polite and friendly, including the maids who were very efficient. The location was 'pathetic' I have been to Hammamet many times expecting it to improve every visit, but unfortunately nothing has been done. Had to spend a lot of time at Yasmine Hammamet, which as a beautiful resort. Would I come back to this hotel? I don't think so.

Hotel Bel Air Review

I booked this last minute for a very good price thereforeI wasnt expecting much.I was pleasently surprised by all aspects especially the entertainment team and the activities they put on for guests. It is also very close to British Bar which was good as we were in a group of young people.
