Hotel Iberostar Averroes, Yasmine Hammamet, Tunisia

Bright, lively and a little bit suave, this hotel is a great choice. Close to all the local attractions and right by a gorgeous beach, Hotel Iberostar Averroes is modern and spacious. It’s also all inclusive, what a bonus! With Hammamet Yasmine Medina just a stone’s throw away, Hotel Iberostar Averroes is a bit of a favourite for families and couples.

The best!

Second time to Tunisia. First time all inclusive, but well worth it. Remember its a Muslim country and diffucult to find drink away from hotel. Only off license is in super-market below the ice rink opposite entrance to marina. Hotel is spotless and welcoming, large swimming pool and directly on the beach. Animation team work hard but not pushy, five aside and volleyball on the beach, aquarobics etc. Evening entertainment not high class but fun. Trips to Tunis and Carthage ok but El Jem better. Pirate trip is great plus there is a barbecue on-board, the crew are mainly students who work very hard to keep you entertained, good value for money. Food at hotel is good with a lot of local dishes, but you have to be prepared to experiment. If you want bacon and eggs go to Spain. Be prepared to haggle, bought a coat for my grandson for 40 dinar knocked from 130 dinars and shopkeeper still had a smile on his face. People are extremley friendly and appreciate the Brits were the first to start coming back after troubles in January. Hotel is well worth its 4 stars and we would love to go back.

Great Hotel - Sad to come home

This is my second visit to this hotel in less than 3 months. The hotel has a central location in Yasmine Hammamet. The staff are the best. They even remembered us from before!!! I will be returning to this hotel again!

Is the internet available in the hotel (i.e. is it worth taking a netbook)? Also, are there any english-language tv channels, in case it rains? Thanks

HARD TO BEAT

I have just came back from the Averroes after my fifth stay at this fantastic hotel. The hotel has everything that you need for a relaxing holiday in a great location. The room, all of the staff and the gardens/pool area and beach were all first class. Kate the manager has been moved to another hotel. Most of the changes that she made while she was there are still in place, but I did notice a slight fall in the quality and variety of food on offer. That is the only negative point that I can find and have already booked my sixth visit.

Taking elderly relative to the Iberostar Averroes (24/10/2011)

Hi there, when I was at the hotel last year two daughters had their mother at the hotel to celebrate her 90th birthday and the old lady spent some of her visit in a wheelchair and didn't have any problems at all, she was even down on the beach. There are three very wide steps at the hotel entrance with wide ramps at either side and at the pool there are a few steps, but mostly long gentle ramps. I would say that the hotel ideal for wheel chair users. The whole resort of Yasmine and the larger resort of Hammamet next door are completely flat, not a hill in sight and there are dozens of bars and restaurants in yasmine that don't take long to walk to. The new airport is now open and is very nice and well laid out, it also cuts the transfer time in to yasmine in half and the Averroes is the 2nd drop off when you arrive and the 2nd last pick up on the way home so you don't spend hours on a bus. If you decide to book up I am sure you will enjoy your trip to the Averroes, I am booked up to go back in April next year for my 10th stay in this hotel. Try and get a sea view room, it only costs a few pounds a day and is well worth it. Ali

Weather? (15/08/2011)

Was it warm in March? Im looking at going beginning of November and dont want be sat with my cardigan on? :)

Weather in March (16/08/2011)

Hi there, I have been to this hotel in March 6 times now and have always found the weather very pleasant. Most of the time you are still comfortable walking about in shorts and t-shirt. Of course it can still be very hot at midday and a bit colder in the evening, but on the whole it like a good sunny summers day in the UK. The Averroes has large gardens at the back of the hotel overlooking the beach that are sheltered from any cool breezes by a hedge and the building itself. I hope this helps. In September I will be returning to this hotel for my 9th stay. Ali

Are cocktails included in All Inclusive? Until what time can you get a drink?

Mr M Morris

(24/08/2010)

Hi again. Most cocktails and international drink brands like Smirnoff vodka, Gordon's gin, etc not included. Only a few cocktails are included, mostly non alcoholic ones. When I was at the hotel back in March the bar closed at midnight, but Yasmine isn't a big place so there are still a few bars open a short walk away from the hotel where the price of drink varies. Heading back to the Averroes in a few weeks, looking forward to my wee holiday in the sun, hope you enjoy your trip to Yasmine!

Your holiday (29/05/2010)

we have booked this holiday for 23rd June and was wondering exactly what there is to do, e.g, are there any sports on offer and what was the evening entertainment like?

Mrs Joanne Mardle

Entertainment at the Hotel Iberostar Averroes (01/06/2010)

The animation team organise various sports activities throughout the day like darts, archery, aqua aerobics, beach volleyball, French bowls on the beach, etc. There is also a gym in the hotel, but I was told by other guests that there is a small charge to use the gym and that a lot of the equipment is either old or broken (I haven't used the gym myself, a run along the beach does me fine, more relaxing.) In the evenings there tends to be a folk show on one night, a band on another night to give the animation team a night off, a show with the animation team doing sketches/dancing on another night and the rest of the week is normally the animation team doing the usual audience participation games like Miss Averroess, Mr & Mrs, the usual sort of stuff. The team don't have a big budget but they do try hard. I don't know if you have kids, but if you have they they are looked after very well most off the day and at night time. The team are all very good with the kids and the kids appear to love them.
