PLUS

For an exotic escape pack the family up and head for the Sahara Beach Hotel! This all-inclusive hideaway sits in gorgeous gardens and is pretty much self-contained. A fabulous choice of daytime and evening activities keep boredom at bay, while an impressive thirteen tiered pool is really something special. The kids are well catered for with a splash pool and play area, and beach lovers can reach the lovely sloping sands straight from the hotel. If you enjoy exploring why not catch the metro train or bus to Monastir and lively Sousse for a real taste of Tunisia.

went here again for the 4th time with our 12 year old son. Stayed for 3 weeks & again a fantastic time had by all. food was a bit repetetive, but was still good, new water park was excellent & passed a few hours away, new health centre was good & relaxing. the gym area was being refurbished while we were there. the barmen Jimmy & Habib treated us like royalty all holiday. on the whole if you're looking for sun, something to entertain the kids, this is for you. if you can find a better place for the price good luck. only downside was the mosquitos, but due to the trouble earlier in the year the government didn't spray tho breeding grounds as they normally do to keep them in check. i suppose they had more pressing things to do. bring on next year, we'll be back!

All inclusive? (22/12/2011)

I would just like to know what time's all-inclusive food and drinks are available at this hotel?

Ms vicky jones

All Inclusive at the Sahara Beach Hotel (29/12/2011)

Hi! Sorry cannot remember exact time all inclusive meals and drinks were available from, started early morning, right up until evening time, with drinks right up to 10.00pm or maybe 11.00pm. What most people did near last orders was to take a few extra drinks to their tables, P.S. the cocktails are great! Also handy to take a deck of cards with you, as no entertainment in bar, but a nice place to have a few drinks, nice to give the staff a few dinar, not a lot to us, means a lot to them, highly recommend all inclusive, hoping for a return visit to this hotel soon. I do hope this information helps, enjoy ur holiday! Kind regards,...Patricia.

Great Relaxing Holiday

Having visited this hotel in the late 70's when it was new I did not know what to expect. The Buildings are the same, smallish but funtional bedrooms, but the grounds and the facilities are amazing. The staff are welcoming and very organised. The Reps were fantastic and very helpful. Downside was getting sunbeds by the pool if you were out at first light then no problem. My friend & I were quite happy to get sunbeds in the gardens so it didn't present a problem for us. The restaurant was very good, home made soups, pizzas, pancakes and a variety of main courses and sweets were well presented and even the pickiest of eaters could find something they liked! Evening entertainment was somewhat limited to the outside show or Piano bar but getting seats was almost impossible. We spent most evenings in the bar playing cards. We took the 2 day Sahara tour - a fantastic not to be missed experience and a wonderful way to see the diversity of the country. All in all the holiday was really good, the hotel and people really helpful. A good time was had by all.

A Lovely Holiday

After being Delayed at Gatwick for about 2hrs we arrived Just after Midnight (this obviously meant No All Inclusive - No food or drinks till the next morning). We actually paid for a few beers and the kid's coke's. The weather is fantasticly hot so you need to make sure you have a high factor sun screen. The pool's are very clean and always have a life guard on duty. The food is of high quality and always being checked (the queue's get annoying though for Pancakes, omlettes etc). Bar staff are very friendly but even more so if you tip them generously and you will get a bigger measure if you wish. It has a sign post that say's reserving of sunbed's is not allowed til after 7 am, but if you didn't get down by the pool's by 6 at the latest you wouldn't get a prime spot. I don't go on holiday to wake up at 5.30 to get a sunbed. We were given ad-joining room's for our children and ourselve's (who could complain about 2 bath's etc). The only complaint is the cleanliness of the hotel we made finger marks in the dust on the chairs in reception at the beginning of the fortnight and they were still there at 8pm 2 week's later. All in all this is a very great hotel which you will feel safe in as there is a high presence of security around the hotel. This is our second time at this hotel and has come across better than when it was Ibersostar. All that is needed is to scrap the Zoo and make it in to an Aquapark. The Zoo is a waste of space so don't even bother wasting the energy going in there. Oh and we're delayed coming home yet once again which speaking to people in the hotel is a regular thing for the Gatwick flight coming home.

Hotel Sahara Beach

Everything was ok, what you expect for 3 stars. Nice having your own table in dining room, good pools, beach next to you good, food ok. Main moans no black out curtains so wake very early about 4:00 am every morning and didn't like running the gaunlet of traders on the way to the restaurant.

Family holiday at the Sahara beach, Tunisia

We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday here. The weather was just right for our two young children so that they could enjoy themselves outside without getting too hot. The outside areas were really well kept and the sun loungers were on grass with beautiful flowers all aroud, very well kept and pleasant. The location was not great as there was nowhere else to go at night or wander to in the day however at the end of the hotel drive were the bus stops to get to Sousse and Monastir. Go on these buses not the Noddy train, as they are pennies, it is easy, locals are friendly and you dont look daft! Sousse and Monastir definately worth a visit and go into the Medinas. Locals try and get you to buy but they are friendly and it was an enjoyable expearience. Definately take the trip to El Djem its amazing. The hotel was very good value for money, the food was good, the drinks were nice, the staff were friendly, the sports facilities were OK bearing in mind they were free. The childrens club was brilliant and there was only a small fee for some activities. The only down side was the rooms were quite basic, however they were cleaned to a good standard daily. In summary a great family holiday.

Amazed by outdoor area

Not sure what i was expecting going to Tunisia for the first time but was pleasantly surprised. The outdoor pools and beach front location were great. Especially the beach, thought I was in a tropical location as it was so clean and white. Rooms are comfortable but a bit small, entertainment was good too. Plus there seemed to be snack bars everywhere! Also is worth getting out of the hotel to visit the local markets and different culture.

spending money (08/05/2010)

would you recommend taking cash or travellers cheques to change at the hotel? is there a cash machine on the site?

Mr nigel dodds

Spending Money (09/05/2010)

I don't think you can buy the Tunisian currency until you are out there, we took cash as we didn't need much with it being all inclusive and it was easy to change. Don't think there was a cash machine at the hotel but it might have changed as we went in 2008. It's worth getting advice from a local foreign exchange shop on what they advise to take for Tunisia - hope you have a good time!

Excellent stay every year

We go here every year as a family of 4, each time we have a great time its cleanliness is top notch and the food is excellent yes after a fortnight it becomes repetitive but what doesn't. The rooms are basic but we only sleep wash and change in them. cant fault anything always plenty to do, we go every July/August and we dont queue for anything and cant fault the weather. My only bug bear is the child price my boys have been coming here since they were 6 and 7 and now they are teenagers I find it difficult to justify the adult price.

What a brill holiday (24/09/2010)

Me and my partner went in Sept 2010 to the Sahara Beach Hotel - it was fantasic, the staff were lovely they treated us so well always saying hello asking if we are ok and if we want anything. The hotel cleaner was brill, Always cleaned room lovely, nothing went missing even left ipod out thats how much I trusted her. Bar men were fab once we had been there for a day or so they knew what we were drinking and we didnt have to ask for a drink it was there and waiting for us, never had to show cards (it was a wrist bands) and they dont ask cause they remember you. The animation team was brill even though we didnt spend anytime with them they still always had a laugh with us when you walked passed them always polite and smiled and the shows they do in the evening are brill and they really but all there effort into it great for adults and children. The food was fab you can get it all over the hotel even the beach all times of the day and different food in every outside bar. Drinks are fab just like english bear, and all the spirits you can think off. The cocktails were great, I had at least 5 to 7 a night, they are fab, cocktail man is the best! Cups of tea and coffee in the morning as well and bottles of water all day. Even got to do sailing and kyaking free just book it the day before, and we did a jet ski for 40 dinar. We did a camel caravan it was brill perfect day out. Beach was lovely, white sand clear water and warm. The swimming pools are fab there are 3 so there is a pool suitable for everyone. Our room was great we had a really clean room had a lovely sea view which was lovely to look at all times of the day. The bathroom was just like any hotel bathroom bath, shower, sink tolilet, all you need so all in all room is perfect. The whole hotel is perfect cant moan at all. It was a great holiday will be going back next year.

Sahara beach (16/05/2010)

This is a very cheap hotel, room are like boxes, service very slow, all inclusive is poor, need to show cards every time you order drinks, beach men always after money for sun beds, food was nice and hot but very very boring, and not really suitable food for kids, weather was a bit hit and miss, with quite a bit of rain at Easter.
