My husband and I spent a week at the Denny Apartments for our Honeymoon. The accommodation is basic but clean and in a fantastic location behind the Denise Supermarket on the main strip. Denise is your typical Greek lady and was very welcoming. She gave me beautiful roses from her garden everyday on hearing it was our honeymoon. The rooms were swept and mopped daily with the linen and towels being changed twice during our 1 week stay. The apartments do not have a pool, however, just next door you can use the Scorpio pool, which was never overly busy, had plenty of loungers and parasols and a lovely bar area for refreshments and snacks. We stayed in apartment 6 on the ground floor and although rather small (this would've been better had a 3rd bed not been squeezed in!) it was more than adequate for our needs. We did not do any cooking, but there were a few basic utensils, glasses, cups, cutlery and a 2 ring hob and fridge. We only used the fridge to keep drinks and ice in. The shower room was typically greek. Toilet, wash-hand basin and only a shower head and no shower curtain. However there was always plenty of hot water and toilet rolls. A 1 minute walk took you onto the main street where there was plenty of restaurants and bars to suit all tastes and the supermarket on the corner just outside the apartments was well stocked and was open till around midnight, should you run out of beer whilst sitting on the terrace watching the sun set behind the mountains! Drunk Corner bar just over the road showed all the live sports from back home. Rose & Crown English pub had Karaoke nights, bingo, etc and had a lovely friendly atmosphere. PnP Cocktail bar was great and Labaros who ran it knew all of his cocktails off by heart (all 3 pages of A4 to be exact!) Do go along and try one of his cocktails, YUMMY! We enjoyed eating at the Ambrosia and Parthenon restaurants and discovered the Artemis on our last evening. Cannot fault any of the food we had, the service was always excellent and prices were not too over the top. The brochure had stated that the beach was a 5 minute stroll, however, we found that it was more like 20-25!! But there are a couple of restaurants and taverna's on the way to the beach should a cold beer or a rest in the shade be needed! Do be aware that the Loggerhead Turtles use Kalamaki beach to lay their eggs and at certain times of the year it is not accessible. We did not take any trips so I cannot comment on their enjoyment or prices. All in all we had a fantastic time. For what we paid (£324 Total) we thought it was excellent value for money and would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Kalamaki resort or the Denny Apartments, so much so that I shall be booking my return visit in the very near future.
